Security Council expressed concern about tensions in Guinea Bissau

Rafael Ramirez, acting as President of the United Nations Security Council, said that the members of this UN body expressed concern about the continuing tensions within the African Party for the Independence of Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde, and between national institutions of Guinea Bissau.
 
Ramirez, on behalf of the members of the Security Council, called on the political leadership of Guinea Bissau to resume dialogue between the parties in order to work together.
 
He stressed the importance of national reconciliation, inclusive dialogue and good governance in the aforementioned African nation.
 
The Security Council expressed its desire to renew the mandate of the United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea Bissau.
 
The President of the Security Council recalled the Donors Conference in Brussels in March 2015 organized by the European Union, and invited all international partners to support the Terra Ranca program and meet the commitments that were made.
